It's a Shoe Thang!

About Me

Ok, here we go.  My name is Less and I am, for lack of a better term, a shoe addict, there...I said it.  Or so I've been told.  I, however, prefer to think myself as a dedicated Connoisseur of one of the most sophisticated, elegant, classic yet distinctive collections of influential, gorgeous, sexy and provocatively stylish inventions known to womankind. Yes girl, I'm talking about the finest footwear a.k.a. SHOES!  Loads and loads of fabulous designer shoes waiting patiently for me to hunt them down, try them on, buy them up (sometimes more than one (3-5) pair(s) at a time), and bring them safely home to my warm and cozy, slightly over-crowded closet.  A girl's gotta have a hobbie, doesn't she?

And with that said, I'm here to share all my shoes with all of you.  I'm just an average girl (woman over 30, Ok over 35) with a unique talent.  I shop for shoes everyday of the year.   And NO I'm not a buyer for a shoe store though, I think I'd be great at that job.  Shoe shopping is more like therapy for me, most days I come home with at least a couple pairs.  And it doesn't help that where I live in Michigan there's to be a mall or shopping center  on every corner.  So temptation is always knocking on my door.

Now, I know what you're thinking-- 'No one can possibly shop for shoes everyday'.  And you're right, sometimes the weather doesn't permit me to go out, the occassional illness holds me hostage in bed or a family issue that needs handling pops up and blocks my way, so I may miss a day here and there.  Plus, remember I said  "most days" I buy shoes.  Some days I come home empty-handed.  Sigh!  It's alright though, because a true shoe addict is a picky shoe addict.  I (we) never buy shoes that don't fit perfectly, are something that I'd (we'd) never ever wear or are not returnable.

I'm talking Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Stuart Weitzman, Steve Madden, Stella McCartney, BCBGirls, Prada, Gucci and the list goes on and on and on.  Is it really an addiction when designer shoes make you wish you could magically grow an extra set of feet just so you can buy more pairs?  Or is it admiration?  Either way, it doesn't matter if your shoes of choice are wedges, slingbacks, pumps, sandals, or my personal favorite stilettos (drool ), women have wanted or pretty much needed to surround themselves with beautiful, handcrafted designer footwear ever since the words, "I love those shoes, where did you get them?" were first uttered in a public place.  But who can blame me, I mean, us.  With so many different styles, textures and colors of shoes to choose from how can I...we be expected to only own a few pairs?  It's not something I can wrap my mind around, hence, I am a shoe addict (admirer), there...I said it again.

So, if you're like me and can't have enough shoes (enough shoes??--NEVER!), then this site is for you.  Join me and fellow shoe addicts (admirers) on the very first (at least I think it's the first) community-based site that lets you show-off your most prized possesions...your shoes!  Yes, your personal shoes you actually own- show them off.  It's easy and FREE.  All you need to do is register to become a member and start uploading pictures of your favorite shoes you wish to share (please only one picture of each pair).  Go ahead and gloat about them so much that we all will envy you.  You can also view and rate other members' shoes, leave comments (on my shoe collection too), and stay up-to-date on the latest shoe fashions in my Shoes of the Week section.  Plus, if you can't seem to find that one shoe you just gotta have (that another member posted most likely), I have a section to help you out.  The Hunt lets you post a distress call seeking help from other addicts near and far in locating those elusive shoes that are missing from your collection.  So go ahead and post away 'cause It's a Shoe Thang!
