TJ Maxx, the Max for the Shoe Addict's Maximum
I know that's not their slogan but it sure does fit when it comes to shopping there. And if you don't know what I'm talking about then Girlfriend hold onto your panties, 'cause you're about to thank me tenfold. TJ Maxx is a shopping paradise, plain and simple. Now, if you absolutely hate shopping then, you can't possibly be a shoe addict and I'm not sure how you got to my website, hmmm? Though, even if you like to shop but are a organization freak this store may not be for you. You see, TJ Maxx is a come one, come all designer markdown extravaganza. They have hundreds, maybe even thousands of designer items that have been discounted to unbelievable prices just waiting for you to come and buy. And not all of their items are from overstocked department stores either. A lot of people have the misconception that TJ Maxx is a leftovers shopping stop. That's not the case at all, TJ Maxx and it's sister stores Marshalls and HomeGoods, actually buy directly from thousands of vendors around the world. The same vendors that sell to the top department stores, sell to TJ Maxx but since TJ Maxx doesn't spend tons of money advertising brandnames the savings are passed on to their customers. They have dresses, coats, handbags and even houseware items that are 50, 60, 70 percent off the retail price. Plus, they have SHOES, designer shoes, designers like Stuart Weitzman, Donald J. Pliner, Jimmy Choo (one of MY favorites), Gucci, Versace, Tahari, Diane von Furstenberg, and L.A.M.B. TJ's also carries designers like Anne Klein, Nine West, Kenneth Cole, BCBGirls, and Bandolino. The list goes on and on.
It sounds too good to be true, right? Well, there is a slight catch. Since TJ Maxx is a reduced price deals store it tends to have a limited number of each item. Which is a good thing in my opinion. When you go there to shop you can pretty much be sure that you will find several things that are unique and no one else you know will have them. Unless you went shopping with your girlfriend and you both bought the same shirt, shoes, or handbag. Been there...done that, but for the most part, you'll have gorgeous new items that only a few others will have. And TJ Maxx stores get new items every week. So, it can tend to look a bit over-crowded in certain sections of the store. Some stores are better than others about keeping the aisles clear and the stock organized but I enjoy digging through racks and seeing what I can find. If you tend to want each designer to have their own designated area, you're kind of out of luck on that front. All the best deals are mingling together waiting for you to rummage through them. The good news is their shoe departments are usually well maintained.
I love TJ Maxx's shoe department! I always make sure I grab a cart and head straight for the shoes. Luckily, they have little color coded dots with the sizes on them inside each pair. This is very helpful because the shoes are not in boxes, unlike Marshalls (most shoes are in boxes at Marshalls). Sometimes other customers don't keep the mates to their shoes they are trying together, it helps a lot to see a huge purple dot with the size 8 1/2 on it from across the aisle. I can spend hours in the shoe section. Remember I have to try on all my shoes to make sure the fit is just right. TJ Maxx has full length mirrors as well as the stools with shoe mirrors on them so you can get the full shoe shopping experience. I've purchased several pairs of shoes from TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I'm in their stores at least once a week, who am I kidding, three times a week.
So, the next time you're looking to go shoe shopping don't forget about TJ Maxx. You may find yourself pleasantly surprised at what you'll find there. But remember if it's FAB designer shoes and you don't share them here with the rest of us, I will hunt you down, 'cause It's a Shoe Thang!
