Hide and Seek
OK so, I was getting ready to upload a few more photos to my showcase when I realized I couldn't find one of the pairs I needed to take pictures of. If anyone has been paying attention to my showcase you will notice I always upload shoes in the order that they are shown in the 'Shoes of the Week' section. So, I was not about to break with that tradition. The problem was, I have hundreds of pairs of shoes and not enough storage space to have them all on display. I know, I know, it's enough to make any shoe addict cry and believe me I do on certain days. However, not this time, because I needed to find my Elizabeth and James heels right away. But where should I look?
Well, I should probably start with the shoes that are still in or rather back in their original boxes. Problem solved right? NOPE! That particular pair of shoes didn't come with their box. I got them on clearance and the box was damaged. So, (I know I say so a lot) I placed them in another box from another pair of shoes that I wear quite often and I have on display. Great idea right? It keeps them from getting damaged and I get to justify keeping the empty box. Only thing is, that creates a new problem...which box did I put them in? I have no idea since I have over 90 original boxes stacked up, ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. A bit dramatic yes, but let me tell you what. What? Stacking all those different size and height shoe and boot boxes takes skill, mad skills. I have mad skills but...
this is gonna take awhile (actual photo from MY basement). The moral of this story, if there is one...One should probably label the box if the shoes inside don't belong in said box.
Being a true shoe addict may be a talent all on it's own but having the organizational skills to keep all your shoes looking great is a bonus. And having the memory to keep track of each pair is a gift. A gift I lost undoubtedly and need to find, it seems on more than one occcassion. So, instead of going through this ritual every time I need to take pictures I have decided to set a goal of having all my shoes on display. I mean, who needs a diningroom anyway. Ok so that might not work, but I'm motivated and I'll figure something out.
So, photos will be going up soon because I found the shoes in an GUESS box, which I should have known that's where they'd be because I have and wear tons of GUESS shoes. But hey, I can't help it if I'm forgetful with all the fabulous pairs still out there for me (and you) to go buy. SO, grab your purse and let's hit it, 'cause you know It's a Shoe Thang!
