Color Me...Confused?
Yesterday I decided I was going to go to the mall in search of a pair of yellow high heel shoes. That was my only plan when I left the house and I was determined not to return home until I had completed my mission. I wanted yellow, bright yellow sexy heels and no, I don't have an outfit to go with them yet nor do I have a place to wear them yet. I just wanted them because shoe addict christy (yep, I called you an addict), posted a fabulous pair not so long ago. So, now I want some too and I'm blaming her for this obsessive behavior I am now displaying. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have even thought twice about owning a pair of yellow heels, at least not this month. Although, I know if it wasn't for her great find I wouldn't be mapping out all the shoe stores in my area for the numerous subsequent hunting trips I now have to make since I came home empty-handed. OK, maybe not empty-handed (everyone knows that rarely happens), but I couldn't find a single yellow pair.
I looked high and low, near and far, but luck was not on my side. It seems that this season shoe designers are sticking with the classics. It's back to the basics, I guess, black, brown, and white. Black shoes are a staple that every shoe addict has and there is no shortage of great new styles coming out in black for Spring. I also noticed that there seems to be a large number of shoes in different tones of brown. Taupe, tan, beige, and nude are all making a full force appearence on department store shelves right now. So, where's all the colors? I didn't see very many different colors any where I went. There was a couple pairs with red as an accent and some with denim blue but no bright yellow, pink, green, orange or purple. Don't get me wrong, I saw some fabulous high heels and I bought a few pairs but I was disappointed with the lack of bright and vibrant colors available in footwear right now. But don't you worry I haven't given up my search quite yet. I'll be hitting the mall everyday until I find my very own fabulous pair.
